RESPONSIBILITY AND DOOR SAFETY
All automatic doors that were installed from 2012 have to meet the current standards of BS EN 16005. There are many requirements for an entrance to meet this standard and any repairs to automatic doors should only be attempted by a competent and qualified technician.

Occupiers of automated doors are expected to perform safety inspections weekly, to check for things like obstructions around the door, all sensors are working correctly and that the door is opening and closing smoothly and safely without any hesitations.

It is the owners responsibility to ensure that professional servicing should take place at least once a year, or every six months if usage is high. During a service a qualified technician will check all electrical and mechanical components, check for worn parts, make sure all safety devices are all working and set up correctly before providing a safety check report. Frequent automatic door servicing can also help prevent unexpected break downs and prolong the lifespan of the entrance system.
